Our topic this half term is:
Fairy Tales!

Literacy
This half term, the children will be diving into the world of fairy tales. They’ll explore the stories of The Three Little Pigs, The Gingerbread Man and Jack and the Beanstalk, using these much‑loved tales to inspire their speaking, listening and early writing.
Spelling tests will begin later in the half term.

Maths
This half term in maths, the children will be building their confidence with numbers to 20. They’ll revisit key Reception skills, represent and compare numbers, practise counting forwards and backwards and use number lines. They’ll also explore one more, one less and begin simple addition and subtraction.

Science
This half term in science, the children will explore the changes we see in autumn and investigate different everyday materials. They’ll look closely at how things change in the environment, sort materials by their properties, and take part in simple hands‑on investigations.

Here is our overview for this term’s theme –
